The IGU Order of Merit is the official ranking system for amateur golfers in India. Points are accumulated from performances in IGU-sanctioned events throughout the season, including national championships, state-level tournaments, and zonal competitions. Each event carries a points allocation based on its tier and the strength of the field.
The rankings serve as the primary selection criteria for national team representation, international tournaments, and invitations to marquee events. Top-ranked players in the Gentlemen and Ladies categories are also reflected in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), providing global visibility and recognition for India's best amateur golfers.
Merit lists are published separately for each category and are updated on a rolling basis as events conclude. Players can track their standings and points breakdown by downloading the detailed merit list PDFs above.
